Ray Basi is Stone Owl’s Trust Officer, responsible for the ongoing administration of client trusts once the structure is in place. 

Ray practiced law for 16 years with a focus on wills and estates before moving into the regulatory world, where he served as Head of Information and Privacy at the Financial Institutions Commission of BC — the predecessor to today’s BC Financial Services Authority. That combination of private legal practice and deep familiarity with BC’s financial regulatory environment means Ray understands not just how trusts are structured, but how they need to be maintained, documented, and governed to hold up over time.

Ray holds a law degree from the University of Victoria.

Ray is the ongoing point of contact for trust administration — ensuring that family trusts, alter ego trusts, insurance trusts, and testamentary trusts are properly maintained year over year, that trustee obligations are met, and that the structure continues to serve the purpose it was built for.
