- About Cole Bailey
As Stone Owl’s legal partner for corporate structuring and commercial matters, Cole Bailey brings the training of a national firm and the focus of a boutique practice to the legal work that underpins our clients’ financial structures.
Cole practices in the corporate and commercial group at Coal Harbour Law. Before joining Coal Harbour, he spent two years as a Litigation and Dispute Resolution Associate at McMillan LLP.
Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2022, Cole has since built a practice centred on the corporate transactions and structural legal work that business owners require as their financial complexity grows. His work spans acquisitions, mergers, financings, and commercial contracts, and his litigation background — including appearances before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia — means he understands not just how structures are built, but how they hold up under pressure.
Cole earned his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC, where he competed in the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot and won the B.C. Law Schools Moot. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary.
Through his partnership with Stone Owl, Cole serves as the legal anchor for clients navigating corporate restructuring, holdco and opco arrangements, trust implementation, and related commercial matters — ensuring the structures we design are built on sound legal ground from day one.
